Description
Manufactured from polypropylene (PP) in the UK, when utilised in the twin wall structural design, Genus Sub-Terra™; offers a low-cost way of constructing small to medium sized chambers. With a minimum 40 tonne unsupported vertical loading capability the PP chamber provides a strong and viable alternative to building chambers in concrete and can reduce the cost of a chamber in areas where side loading is not high. For example, the shorter ends of a larger chamber are sandwich by the even stronger GRP sections above and below which provides the chamber with extra strength.
The Glass Reinforced Polyester Resin (GRP) system is ideal for chambers from 1 metre clear openings all the way up to 4 metre side wall lengths! Providing a minimum 40 tonnes vertical load up to 90 tonnes, without the need to surround with concrete, lateral loadings are also excellent. Designed to support 50kN/m² and higher, this represents heavy surface surcharge loadings and surrounding ground weight. When used in combination with the PP system, it can significantly increase the lateral resistance capability for medium sized chambers with a 900mm side wall and longer.
N-Force is a continuous GRP profile beam which can be used on any chamber, providing unparalleled lateral loading capabilities, where site conditions require enhanced sidewall resistance.
An added feature of the N-Force beam is that it can be used to attach a base unit or alternatively, at the top of a chamber, it offers a means of increasing depth in small increments.

When sizing SubTerra™, the key dimensions are the clear opening size and external dimensions. The clear opening is the internal measurement across both internal widths and length from side wall to side wall.

Alongside composite covers, a range of accessories are also available, such as cable management, steps, ladders, non-slip bases and sump bases. Complimenting the Genus SubTerra™ chamber system is the multi-duct system.
