Description
Complimenting the drainage systems which are available from Plastech (Western), both adoptable and non-adoptable access & inspection chambers & catchpits are available, which can take HS®, EN1401 and Twin Wall pipes.
These chambers offer versatility & flexibility as well as giving a significant overall saving on installation costs when compared to the traditional installations such as PCC chamber ring, preformed chambers and wet trades.
All of the chambers are classed as non-man entry access and limited to 3 metre inverts in adoptable installations, whilst in non-adoptable applications they are limited 6 metre depths. This is stipulated in Sewers for Adoption 8th Edition (Sfa8) and both the 450mm Ø & 600mm Ø range comply with SfA7 type 3 & 4 chamber specifications, which states that if the invert is above 1.2 metres then the access must be restricted to 350mm for safety compliance.
Manufactured from high strength polypropylene, the chambers are strong, extremely robust and can be installed in a minimum granular surround or suitable ‘as dug’ material. Whether you are installing a kit or single piece unit, the system offers a fully watertight chamber preventing the pollution of soils and ingress of water tables. They are also effective against aggressive soils and leachete from polluted land.
The options for the 450mm Ø & 600mm Ø bases are to have a straight 110mm channel, two 110mm inlets at 90° and two left/right 45° branch inlets or a mixed base, which have a straight 160mm channel, two 160mm inlets at 90° and two left/right 110mm 45° branch inlets. Standard chambers are available as either a complete single piece unit up to 2 meters deep or as a 3-part kit up to 6 metres that can be assembled on site.
Access & inspection chambers can be designed to be compatible with all UK Twin Wall pipe systems & specifically for surface water systems. They can however also be adapted to take structured wall drainage and other pipe systems. All ranges are designed for use in non-man entry access and inspection applications for inverts up to 3 metre in adoptable applications and 6 metres in non-adoptable applications, as stipulated in Sfa7.
The 600mm Ø range of inspection chambers with the option of a single straight half channel through the base and available with the option of either a 45° or 90° side inlet for secondary connections. Available in chamber depths of 1 and 2 metre in the single channel and 1 metre in the side inlet range.
600mm Ø inspection chambers can come with a 500mm deep catchpit for trapping silt and debris.
